I can't help but notice that since we are approaching the once-a-year big sales of Thanksgiving, many ads are popping up either on my Facebook feeds or directly from google and emails. I want to say that I've never participated in any of the black Friday sales events in the past and I am not going to do so this year. Why? Simply because of a few reasons. First, internet sales are always there and they are more convenient than driving to the store and wait in front of the line hoping that you get your dream deal of the year. I don't recall a cyber Monday was implemented until recent years. I think it was a right move to make for most of the stores because the growth of internet sales and online deals are increasing tremendously.
Second, I recently saw a post explaining to consumers that sometimes the deals you see aren't always what you get. I personally don't have any experience with this but I think it is always good to read through all fine prints and find out exactly what you are buying. Again, I'm not a big fan of standing in front of the store and wait for hours for it to open. It could get hectic and chaotic as I heard that injuries happened a few times during a few of Wal-Mart's black Friday sales events. I very much enjoy browsing through the internet and digging through deals than fighting for a low-priced product.

I don't think there is anything wrong with just looking at the deals. People line up all night for a reason. There are some really good discount there. With that said personally I'll just be looking at stuff online. Black friday has online sales as well. I can't justify myself waiting in line for anything.

I'm looking forward to seeing if there is anything I need at a huge discount. Game companies also sell their premium currency at amazing discount as well. That is pretty nice for a gamer like me.

I think the American culture of consumerism has fueled the hype and demand for Black Friday deals. The deals are not great and many consumers who are educated on marketing tactics have probably learned to avoid the crowds. I feel this new tradition preys on the uneducated and the low-income who must wait all year for items they can afford. They probably do not realize that the items they are buying are obsolete, defective, or simply overstock due to unpopularity. More studies need to be published by the media on how Black Friday is a win for the corporations and a loss for the consumer. The demographics of Black Friday shoppers show a lack of economic and financial literacy. This practice of exploiting the low-income working classes should be seen as unethical corporate greed and not the secondary holiday it has become.

Black Friday Sales in stores are way outta hand. Never experienced it, don't think it's necessary to line up for something they can get online. People are crazy, they start to get physical and a lot of disrespect is going on. I personally think online shopping is more convenient since nobody's going to be in your way or harm you just cause there was that last cute leather jacket in a small.
