It’s the end of Black Friday and soon the beginning of Cyber Monday. It’s crazy to see the amount of emails I get from the stores I’m subscribed to from both Black Friday and Cyber Monday. The deals have now become hard to keep up with because some Black Friday deals go through Monday so to me there is no difference from both events. I personally think Cyber Monday should be included with Black Friday because in both places we can find the same deals. There shouldn’t be a need for a second event just to add additional deals and promotions. The downside of waiting for Cyber Monday instead of buying on Black Friday is that the items that you want to buy might go out of stock. Although many people might find these two days ridiculous, advertisement does a good job in preparing people weeks before the event and getting them excited by revealing some deals that will be available. I’m more of a Cyber Monday consumer because I prefer being in the comfort of my own home and getting the same deals as if I went to the physical store but I also understand the rush of people wanting to be in the crowds and getting those good deals. Fortunately, I didn’t see any craziness happening this year unlike previous years where people are fighting each other.

I completely agree with you on why not combining Black Friday and Cyber Monday but I guess business do not combine due to the high demand of products. Their websites would crash; employees could be over working during Black Friday/Cyber Monday if combined. Both days are similar and there is no difference other than being physically there and being on a computer. In my opinion, if Black Friday has gotten out of hand I guess it would be more chaotic if the two days were to be combined.

Hi Carina,

I am totally the same. I am more of a Cyber-Monday gal, as I want to be in the comfort of my own home without having to deal with the hustle and bustle in the physical stores. But some people might actually like this rush and the hectic part of it all. But I also agree that there shouldn't be a need of two events for the same deals within the same stores; it's pointless. Indeed these stores and companies do a fantastic job on advertising and promoting these events for and to their consumers to get them excited and prepared for the big day(s)!

Hello, Carina. This is the first year I'm really interesting in black Friday and cyber Monday, maybe because it is the first year I have money of my own. My family went black Friday shopping at Citadel and they said that almost every store was giving their black Friday deals on Thursday. They opened store on Thursday at 6am and closed on Saturday 12am. My cousin said that as he was picking out a shirt he turned back to show his mom when he stepped on someone, apparently she had her hands in his pockets trying to take out his phone. I did cyber Monday shopping for everyone in my family due to amazon prime and out of all the items we got we got scammed with 2 items. That is less than what has happened to us before, still unacceptable but oh well.

hi Carina, I am not an American and I dont know what is the meaning and how do black friday and cyber maoney come from. I believe it is just a way that the retailers to make more profit and enhance the consumers to buy more. It is true that the advertisement did a great job. Honestly, I have bought a few items in Black Friday and Cyber Money too. However, my English teacher told me these event are not environmentally friendly. I agree with these and I feel regret that I made too much trash and packaging. I hope we can think more before we buy in the next shopping.
