According to an email last week Santa Monica College, and the neighborhood around the college, has had a high crime activity on Dec 8 with theft of cell phones and wallets. When I first heard this I first thought that I would never bring my computer and cell phone again to school and it really scared me. Those are really expensive things and they are also very easy to steal at the street for someone in the theft buisness. Are you scared of viewing your media devices in public? Do you sit with your laptop in the grass alone fully visible and leave it there for a minute or two? Do you answer you phone at public places without hands free? Do you think that apple products are more likely to be stolen? Do you know that the library at SMC is a high risk place and especially if you fall asleep or go to the bathroom leaving your media devices at the table?

With a growing media world we have many positive things going on around it but we have to also be aware that these devise are at high risk to be stolen from us. Are you concerned when you walk near school that it can happen to you? That you can be a victim?
