The Navajo tribe, the largest Native American tribe, has settled a trademark suit against the retail chain Urban Outfitters . This suit was mainly over the use of the tribe's name in merchandise. The deal resolves any claims by the tribe contesting the Philadelphia company's "Navajo" and "Navaho" brands in a variety of products, including pullovers, feathered earrings and underwear. The terms and conditions of the settlement are not disclosed. However, records show that a federal judge formally dismissed the case. Part of the deal is said to be that the tribe can collaborate with the company in making jewelry in the future.
