This was one of the biggest and busiest weeks for media. Like every year, the Oscars took over Hollywood once again. We witness some of the biggest stars in Hollywood ranging from Ben Affleck, Jennifer Lawrence, Halle Berry, Denzel Washington, etc....For the first time; the Oscars were hosted by Seth Mcflarene, who did a good job entertaining the audience. This year’s Oscars were viewed by over 40.4 million people that also helped ABC boost their ratings.
There were plenty of surprises in this year’s Oscar winners. The most surprising winner was Jennifer Lawrence. I believed she did a great job in the film “Silver Linings Playbook” but there was other actress that also deserved to win. Daniel Day Lewis winner for the Oscar for best actor was no surprise for me. He did a wonderful job portraying Lincoln’s character in the movie “Lincoln”. Even though the other nominees for best actor were pretty good, I knew Daniel Day Lewis had the edge over them.
Another predictable winner was the Oscar for best picture. Argo told the story of the rescue operation that saved six Americans during the Iran hostage crisis. I was sure that “Argo” was going to win this year’s Oscar. Films like “Lincoln” and “Silver Lining Playbook” were among some of the predictable winners; however, Argo’s storyline won them the Oscar. This year’s Oscars weren’t as exciting as the previous ones; however, there were some incredible movies and actors that were all well deserving.
