While doing my paper today about how black lives matter i stumbled upon many videos of African american men getting shot at. I saw one video of a black man with his arm up getting shot at. The officers said they killed most of them because they were armed and was a threat. To me this shows how our police training a hiring need reform. How can a police officer with back up by many other police officers view one man as a threat. I think they need to know more ways of deescalating a situation without killing a man. For example, i know our FBI do not do that. They bring in negotiators and everything in order to not have anyone die. I think we all need to stop ignoring this because it's not fair that our fellow american citizens have to be treated this way. Fear is not a good way to dis-encourage criminals. how can it be that after all these years we still havent evolved.

A lot of people who are against the Black Lives Matter movement are saying "All Lives Matter" but here's the thing about that..when you say "All Lives Matter" it takes away from the main subject of the issue and that's that a significant number of unarmed African americans have been killed this year. As a white male, I'm actually disappointed in some white americans that can't come to terms with the fact that African americans have a voice. Perhaps the best analogy I heard about this was when somebody tweeted, "To all of you who say All Lives Matter, do you go to childrens' hospitals and say "there are sick adults too." So true!

I think hudson has it; when people say "all lives matter" it takes away from the point that BLM is trying to make, which is Black Lives Matter TOO. They are not saying that Black lives are more important than others, just that they need to/should be equal with everybody else in this country.

Hi i feel the same as you when people say all lives matter. I mean it's obvious that every life in this country matters, but like you said right now we are focusing with the one life that is constantly getting killed. I don't care which race it is i will stand up to any life that is being constantly murdered by police because it's sad, and unethical. I also like the way you see it about going into a children's hospital and saying adult lives matter too.

Hello, Ceilia.
I totally agree with you. I strongly believe that this country is in sick with politics, public power, racism, and etc. I think that public power in this country is really strong and it involves racism, which makes it more terrible. African-Americans are dying from shoot by police officer when most of the times they don't carry a gun. How sad to lose our people in our own country when they only made small mistakes that can be forgiven. I hope that police officers would minimize the gun shoot to African American.

I agree with everything said here. It is really important that the government starts tog et involved in creating change within the police force. It is unfair that the African American community has faced this for years and are now facing their lives being in danger. The changes need to be made in order for people to feel more apart of. I think the media needs to find ways to create unity within communities instead of seperating them. The farther seperate people get. The more violence comes.
