I don't watch TV anymore. I don't even own a TV. I find that streaming online, through Netflix/hulu/HBOgo, is more satisfying. TV seems to just have the same style of content being recycled and copied over and over again. It goes the same trend from cooking to talk shows. It is just boring. The internet has brought us many platforms where we can find content that suits our taste. Youtube, for instance, is almost like the modern day TV.

Hi Janet,

I have to admit that you have chosen to pose very interesting question. To be honest, me and my wife decided four years ago that we will no longer be controlled by the television programs, and we have created our own way to keep up-to-date with news, movies, etc. We have TV at home, however it is only used when we decide to watch some movie that we found on Netflix. We use online news outlets and we watch shows on Netflix. I feel like the process of watching TV is outdated, as nowadays people have sense for the value of their time, and they do not like wasting it on watching meaningless advertisements while trying to see their favorite show, especially when there are platforms like Netflix that provide it at affordable cost.

I watch television fairly often, but I use it for a majority of research on different tv shows and styles for the entertainment industry. Netflix has been a big change in life for me and everyone around me though, as many people I know no longer pay for cable.

Hi Janet
I definitely agree with you that nowadays people don't spend as much time watching television as in the past. Nowadays people spend more time watching t.v shows on their computers or on the internet.

ok so it looks like I'm the only person here who watches TV. I'm 33 and I still like to watch TV and the commercials and the programing and everything. No I don't pay for cable , I do believe its to expensive for channels I'm not going to watch, so I have Netflix's and Hulu Plus. I have regular TV with the box that allows me to pick up basic channels and that's all I need. I get channels I ever heard of but they show the classics that I love, like Miami Vice, Quantum Leap, Night Rider, Star Trek and the best Murder She Wrote and some new stuff like Star Gate SG1! Some of these shows are old classics and they are comforting to me to watch. So I still watch TV and sometime I look at people weird when they say they don't and then point and scream "HIPPIE! NO Trust! No Trust!" but I guess that's the normal now. I am from an older generation or maybe I just have a old soul.

I have thought about this a lot too. I have never had a TV of my own and I moved out of my parents house when I was 18...8 years ago and I never felt the need to have a TV. Everything I want to watch I find online and then watch it on my computer, I could not imagine having to look at a schedule to see when my show would be on. I have always felt its such a waste of time to watch TV. Don't get me wrong I watch Netflix on the daily but just wasting my time dealing with commercials and just jumping around channels to find something I want to watch.
