When we think about mobile gaming we think about games that people play casually on their phone. Now it has become bigger due to the fact that people have realize how much money people are willing to spend on mobile games. Mobile gaming has become a multi-billion dollar industry and we are seeing higher and higher quality games being release on the market. A lot of mobile games are aimed directly to try to get people to spend money. A lot of people say that the perfect mobile game is not a fun game but a good enough game to let people buy "fun."

The reason mobile games have become so popular is due to the fact that it is so accessible. Everyone you know now have an Android or iPhone. The barrier to entry is a lot lower than console or computers since not everyone has those. Since most phone games are made to be playable by most games, it allows everyone to join instead of a specific group of people. My problem with mobile gaming right now is that the practices that companies are using are extremely unethical. There is a lot of pay to win where people can pay real money in order to be better than everyone else. It just made to purely try to milk as much money as possible.

People are now spending so much money on mobile gaming. It has come to the point where people are spending more money on mobile gaming than they would on a console or PC. A lot of mobile gaming have a gamble aspect of the game where people constantly spend money for a chance to get something good in-game. Since it's a chance people have to blow hundreds of dollars just to get the things that they want. This make games way more expensive than even triple A tittle games you see on console and PC. I hope this trend doesn't continue and that people will stop spending money on pay to win games just like how they do on PC.

I truly hope that this will stop. But in reality, it is relatively impossible to stop. As you mentioned, mobile games are so accessible and that is their advantage. With the gambling systems, especially fantasy games, the developer will always include a gambling system where players could pay to buy a chance to receive a super rare reward such as special hero or equipment, etc. I think this idea was first found in PC gaming such as Dota2. Or, the crate boxes from CS:GO. Moving on, basically, all the new games have this feature for the extra profit. Sad to say, but in my opinion, they would only stop it if players actually stop purchasing in-game currency or somehow data shows that provides a negative impact. Otherwise, P2W is going to be a thing.

It is unbelievable to see how people are actually willing to spend money on a mobile game that would only entertain them for a while. This has become an addiction in my point of view because people are willing to spend money to continue playing and have more fun with a game. Like you've mentioned, the fact the it is accessible, it is much easier to engage a person into such activity and how many people now have smartphones at their hands. Mobile game companies are making lots of money just by having making these games so accessible for the people to play.

This topic is something I can definitely relate to because I enjoy playing mobile games. With that said, I only play the free ones and refuse to pay for any extra items. I know how hard it can be to not just pay for those items because they count as extra points, quests, clothing, etc. I can especially see this happening with Pokémon Go. Everyone wants to be a higher level and want to catch them all but for that, you are required to have a lot of pokeballs, berries, incubators to hatch eggs, and other extra items. With these mobile games that happen to be free, in reality they aren't because in order to advance, you are strongly recommended to pay for items. Like you mention, I can see why people are attracted to mobile games, because they are accessible. You can take the game with you anywhere unlike a game console where you need it to be connected to the television and need all these cords. I can't see mobile games going away anytime soon. As long as there is a market and demand for them, they'll stick around.
