Resources > Workshops
At Understand Media, we believe in learning by doing. This is why we offer workshops to schools, organizations, and communities worldwide. We also speak well in front of groups and can also teach you all about those new gizmos kids are using these days. If you're interested in having us come and speak to your organization or run an all-day workshop, please write us an e-mail or give us a call. We'd be happy to come for a visit and help spread the knowledge. Best of all, we can offer workshops, lectures, keynotes, and training in either English or Spanish.
Here are some of the things we offer.

Seminars and Lectures
We can tailor a seminar or lecture about any topic relating to media literacy, including general media literacy, body image, consumerism and advertising, race and gender, news and politics, media technology (podcasts, blogs, wikis, etc.), and much more. We've spoken at conferences, in classrooms, and at both non-profit and for-profit organizations about media.

Workshops
Learn media literacy by doing it. We offer workshops with activities that get you and your organization involved. Workshops can be tailored to your specific needs - we'll teach what you need to learn (over 100 topics), we'll fit it into your time constraints (an hour or an entire week), and we'll appeal to your audience (young and old, 2 people or 100).

Keynotes
Need an impactful speech about media literacy or technology that will get your audience motivated? We offer the solution with customized keynote addresses that will make your audience excited. We can talk about any aspect of media literacy education, the media and entertainment industries, and technology in education.

Media and Technology Training
Need to know the difference between a blog and a podcast? Are you speechless when asked about Twitter and MySpace? Then we have the solution for you. We're hip to these technologies because we use them - in the classroom, at home, and at work - everyday. And we can teach you to use them too.
